Why would a graphic designer choose to learn technical drafting?
When you really think about it, there's a lot of overlap between them: a concept, turning it into a functional specification, and shaping it into a final output.
Sure, drafting is much less about artistic creativity. But it gives me a different kind of value. a sense of meaning and real-world purpose. I take part in drafting electrical systems for water infrastructure, ensuring there's water for drinking, farming, and everyday life.
On screen, engineering plans might look like simple lines and points. But in reality, they become the tangible foundation of our daily lives.
